Common Tones01.06.2023 | 8:00PMST. JAMES’S CHURCH, CLERKENWELL LONDON
On 1 June the Flanders Architecture Institute and the Diplomatic Representation of Flanders in the UK invite you to an encounter between the architecture cultures of London and Flanders. ‘Common Tones’ elaborates on the most recent edition of the Flanders Architectural Review, as part of the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) 2023. Alliances with the Real showcases some of the most striking recent architecture in Flanders and Brussels, including the work of London based architects. As such, it showcases the continued kinship between the architectural scenes from both regions. During this evening, representatives of architectural culture and practice will discuss some of the challenges and opportunities that the Flanders Architectural Review touches upon. From a mix of universal issues to address and local particularities in terms of policy, building practice and architectural culture, some questions arise. What can be learnt from architecture from Flanders and Brussels, and what can it learn from London?
