To anyone who has watched some Sunday evening primetime television back home in Belgium over the last 10 years, the name Lieven Scheire will ring a bell. He was the young man behind top shows such as Het Geslacht De Pauw, the legendary Willy's&Marjetten, the rebellious Basta and the more recent De Schuur van Scheire.

Few of you might know however that in recent years, Lieven has been recasting himself as a stand-up comedian in Britain, making his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe festival (2015 - all shows sold out) but also appearing at other high-caliber gigs such as the Barbican’s Wikipedia-festival, or the ‘Pint of Science’ tour, which brought him to universities in London, Oxford and Cambridge.

So we are very happy to welcome Lieven to London, where he will make his Soho debut next week on 12, 13 and 14 May. And the topic of his show? Nothing less than a couple of seemingly impenetrable scientific concepts:

this unique, non fiction stand up takes little concepts like, oh you know, Einstein’s’ theory of relativity, and explains them in a way that is not only accessible but also hilarious! If nerds are the new hunks, then the charming Lieven Scheire is set to win heads and hearts at his Soho debut!

While we would encourage all of you to go and see one of the shows, we will opportunistically piggyback on the first show and turn it into a VCL event. So join us on Thursday 12 May 2016 at 21.15 at the Soho Theatre. After the show, we'll head to the bar where Lieven will try to make time to have a chat with us (after signing a couple of international contracts and fending off the groupies).

Please book your tickets directly on the Theatre's website. Entrance is £12.50 per person plus a small booking fee.
